Austin, TX (WBSP): Wild Ace Ken Williams slugged 2 homers today against Bowling Green, a day after doing the same against Hoboken. Williams drove in 11 runs over both games to accompany that feat. The Aces outpaced the Baron, 10-7, pitcher Hooks Dauss improving to 15-6 with a 3.09 ERA. The win extends Austin's winning streak to 4 games, keeping a half game ahead of Willison and a full game aheads of Hoboken, in a wild card race that remains razor thin. 「boxscore

A rally of singles in the 8th were capped by Chick Galloway's 2-run single. Butch Henline drove in the last 2 runs for Topeka with a single in the 10th. Williston, ND (WBSP): HIT PARADE IN WILLISTON!!! Fans hoping to see a pitching duel at the Midsummer Classis were sorely disappointed today, as the Knickerbockers and Doubledays combined for 28 runs on 39 hits, the Knickerbockers coming out on top 15-13. The Knickerbockers blew the game apart with an 8-run 5th inning, all coming off Alto's Dixie Leverett and capped by Austin's Lu Blue's grand slam to open a 13-5 lead. Down late, the Doubledays whittled away, Blackwater's Babe Ruth and Alto's Milt Stock homering in the 8th. With Macon's Irish Meusel and Ruth on base in the 9th, and Meusel representing the tying run, Stock grounded out to the end the day. Home town favorite Wendigo Joe Harris and Boston's Zach Wheat also hit home runs for the Knickerbockers; Stock and Wally Schang each had 4 hits. Despite the collective absence of decent pitching, Topeka's Eddie Rommel strung together 3 shutouts innings for the Knickerbockers, allowing only 2 hits and no walks, and getting W. Due to a sudden illness suffered by Button Bay's Robert Gianduso who was slated to manage the Knickerbockers, home town owner Kyle Pope was on to hand fill in and earn a share of what is his 2nd Midsummer Classic win, in 3 appearances. Todd Wade managed his 2nd Classic. The Doubledays and Knickerbockers are tied 2-2 all-time in the Series. 「boxscore
